Second time here . The first was in May and we got here late we were going to be seated but the restaurant was closing and we thought the service would have been lacking so we decided to leave. This time we got here and there was a 25 minute wait .. Ten minutes later we were seated . The ambience is a lot to take in all at once. We ordered a quesadilla which came but no plates or sour cream which we told the waiter we wanted ... A lot of drink specials and some u get to take home the souvenir glass (but there are no prices) My Motown mojito was served in a mason jar glass it went down smoothly $16.99 a no ... I can get a mason jar at a flea market or garage sale for $1.00. I had the fresh fish sandwich with fries .. Fish needed to be seasoned ( lacking salt and I don't use salt ) ... Waiter was good

A great meal with painfully slow service. The House of Blues offers typical american fare taken up a notch by the chef. The atmosphere is wonderful and there was no wait as we visited towards the end of lunch. Ordered a couple of drinks and I'd recommend the mojitos. A word of caution, the mixed drinks are expensive and way overpriced. I'd stick to beer or wine. The menu has everything from burgers to steak and fish available. I won't get into details as you can find the menu online but the food was worth the wait. We were seated right away but didn't see any food for about 30 minutes which was a simple appetizer of artichoke dip. The meals came out maybe 20 minutes later. Everything tasted great but again it was slow and service to me is a big deal. The waitress had a couple tables and there was about 6 tables with people in the entire restaurant. She would often be in the back and nowhere to be found if I needed another drink or something else. This became quite frustrating. It was one of those situations where when the check came I had my credit card ready to go so I can get the heck out of there! Bottom line is I'm sure the service has been better but this was my first experience here and the food alone will not have me jumping at the chance for a second visit.

This is out third visit to the restaurant, once a year for the third year in a row when visiting Myrtle Beach. It was my wife and I and three kids, 12-14 years old. The kids love it and want to come every year. They love the décor and ambiance. Last year there was about an hour wait for a table. This year we made a reservation online through Open Table. It was quick and easy. We arrived about 15 minutes early. Our table wasn't ready, but we were seated by the time our reservation time came up. Our server, I think her name was Kayla, was awesome, one of the best we have had. She was very personable and very attentive. She assisted us in making our choices from the menu, giving us her opinion on the best items. We started with a spinach and artichoke dip with pita chips, which was very good. I had the Jambalaya with blackened shrimp. I thought it was excellent. My wife had the Lobster Mac-n-Cheese. She said it tasted great, but thought the portion was a little small. My wife ordered her side without onions, which the waitress explained, is no problem because everything is made fresh and to order, and not ahead of time. One of the kids had a burger, the other salad and the third had Mac and Cheese, and they were all pleased. There were only two issues. One was there was no draft beer, which I happen to be a big fan of. The waitress explained that there was a problem with the cooler and the beer was warm, so they couldn't serve it. That was understandable, and the bottled beer was cold and tasty. The other issue was it took a very long time for the appetizer to come out, probably at least a 1/2 hour. The waitress came over and apologized a couple times. We were on vacation and really in no hurry, so it was not big deal. When it did come out, it was hot and fresh and tasted great. Before we were done with the appetizer, the main course came out. If it were not for these two issues, I would have given them five stars. On they way out we stopped on the deck for a few minutes. There is a bar on the deck and a live band playing. We planned on stopping back to the deck for a drink while the kids wandered through Barefoot Landing, but got distracted and never made it back. I would recommend the restaurant and will likely come back again next year.

We really like the House of Blues. While there were no big acts we wanted to see during our last stay, we did come and see a band on the deck. It is a nice open air area to hang out in and we had a good time. Our server was great and we enjoyed our visit. I really like the concerts they arrange and just everything about the place.

This revue is for the restaurant. We stopped by early on a weeknight and there was no show that night, so grabbing a table was not a problem. Our server was fantastic- super attentive and full of information about specials that added a salad, etc to our meals. We had the bacon wrapped meatloaf, shrimp & grits, a marinated, grilled chicken breast and a burger. First, the portions are huge. We took half the meatloaf, topped with this rich, wild mushroom sauce, served and garlic, smashed red potatoes, home. Our server happily swapped out the vegetable for extra potatoes.- which was needed for that delicious sauce. The shrimp and grits is served a bit different in that shrimp tops a crispy fried grits cake. The tasso sauce had the right amount of kick and the shrimp were perfectly cooked. I opted to add extra shrimp for a few extra dollars (this is one of my favorite dishes) and the additional shrimp were smaller- but overall the flavor was on point. The marinated grilled chicken breast, served with the garlic, red smashed potatoes and a vegetable was very tender and full of flavor and the burger was perfectly cooked. A surprise hit was the house salad; field greens, red and yellow tomatoes, spicy pecans and crumbled Feta cheese drizzled with balsamic vinaigrette dressing- it was wonderful in its simplicity. Overall, the food was delicious, the service was excellent and there's plenty of parking. My only complaint is that the dining room's New Orleans-blues-jazz- dive bar décor tries too hard; it was like being at a Disney theme restaurant- which isn't our thing. But that's just personal preference.

House Of Blues Myrtle Beach is a very entertaining music venue friendly staff, clean safe environment, all sorts of fun inside and out.

First-timers to any HOB location. This place was very clean, and intelligently designed! I cringed at the thought of "General Admission" tickets, since in the old-days of the Who Concert in Cincinnati have not left my memory. The entry process was very well handled, and I appreciated their security measures at the door, to try and deter riff-raff. This place is 100% non-smoking, which is GREAT! I quit some time ago, and it bothers me worse than it ever did before. Hypocrite. Right? As some other reviews have mentioned, their bar charges are OUTRAGEOUS! But at the same time, thanks to HOB! This discourages overindulgence, and therefore I only saw a couple of drunk idiots. Also, back to the intelligent design comment: the upper deck design allowed for plenty of great views of the stage without being down in the mosh pit. I do not think I will ever intend to eat any food at this venue. I suspect that is likely too much to ask of a music venue.

Only made it the "The Deck" (the outside bar), but it was a great time! There was a band playing which is what drew us in, but the atmosphere and bar is what kept us there. The band was really good and played a wide variety of covers from different genres, the bar tenders were decent, and the outside area was really cool. I had never been to a House of Blues before, so I don't know if thats typical, but I really liked it. They had 2 firepits in a sand area with beach chairs around it, couches and tables lining the perimeter and tables set up around the bar, with a dance floor in front od the stage. We only went with the intention of checking it out and grabbing one or two drink, but ended up staying for about 4 hours. We didnt have any food, so i cant comment on that, but the drinks we had were good. We'll definitely be going back next time we're in MB!

What can you say, this place is awesome. Great food, great live entertainment like Awolnation who I will be seeing later tonight. The staff is extremely friendly and courteous!

This review applies to the breakfast buffet only. We have eaten breakfast here three times this summer season, but I think this (9/2/15) will be our last. As part-year locals, we have been eating here often for the last 8 years. I am sorry to say that the breakfast buffet is now up to $8.99, and the omelette station (which used to be included with the buffet) is now a $3 up-charge. Coffee is now a $3 addition. Worse, the quality of the food is a pale imitation of that of previous years. The eggs are bland and the biscuit gravy (what HOB breakfasts were known for) is now like something out of a can. The wonderful taste of the coffee from previous years is also gone. If the waitress is to be believed, this is due to a relatively new but inferior brew system they now use. In short, there is no value here and the food quality is perhaps lower than average. For a good value with decent quality / taste, Shoney's is a much better deal. For a good value and very good quality / tastes in a breakfast buffet (more like HOB used to be), try Martin's Restaurant at the Long Bay Resort. For an exceptional upscale breakfast, try the Cypress Room at the Island Vista. All of this said, it should be noted that the greet / wait staff was as exceptional as always.

Don't waste your money on the breakfast buffet. It is on par with a Holiday Inn breakfast. Spent $9 in extra charges. $3 for terrible coffee, $3 for a single glass of orange juice, $3 for an omelette up charge. That was on top of the $9 charge to have the standard waffles, fresh fruit, and unappealing eggs.

Awesome Place to hold a family get together .... Held my family reunion dinner here and we had an awesome time!!! Amy and Tammy was so accommodating and helped me with my two months of planning!!! We had a southern style buffet with fried cat fish and chicken, jambalaya, red beans and rice, potato salad and cole slaw with a key lime tart!!! Thank you thank you thank you thank you!!!

The entire place looked a bit grungy and dirty... although I get the feeling that that's the look and feel that the House of Blues chain was going for...anyway we were greeted by a friendly hostess and seated promptly, our waitress was very thorough and made many recommendations. We decided to go with the cream of broccoli soup which was delicious, and shared a rack of ribs with 2 sides - coleslaw and mac and cheese. It was more than enough food for 2 people, and even came with an extra side of BBQ sauce for those who like their ribs real saucy. Everything was delicious, even though we didn't quite finish everything. We were mostly satisfied until we saw a GIANT COCKROACH climb up the back of our booth!!! My fiance swiped it off to the floor with a napkin, but for the next 10 minutes we sat there all paranoid and terrified and scratching ourselves until the check finally came and we were able to get out of there! Luckily, it showed up after our meal, and we weren't one of those people who get grossed out enough to vomit. BUT, if it had shown up during our meal, I think I may have asked for a partial refund and left immediately. It was a quiet Tuesday night so there wasn't a show or a performance going on - but I would like to visit a House of Blues (perhaps a northern, colder location where there are no cockroaches or other giant nasty bugs) for a show/concert sometime.

Decor is amazeballs. Every spot in the house offers a great view of the stage. Bartenders are friendly and staff is very helpful. I've been to 3 shows here and can't wait to come back every time. Only reason I'm giving a 4-star is because I paid extra to "crash the barricade" (early access to the show) which was totally pointless. Still had to wait in line and got the same standing spot anyone else would have got. Would definitely come back, but never pay for early access again.

We came by on Sunday night for a concert..and since it was going to start at 9pm, we decided to just eat the restaurant even though we were skeptical. Our server started out being very nice, she asked if we were getting alcohol and we said no..and I asked her what she recommended off the menu... she wouldn't stop talking about the appetizers, and when I asked her about any entrees, she got weird and was like "oh..the entrees...well.." .. I know servers would like a high tab because the higher the tab, obviously the higher the tip. The turkey burger, and the chicken burger was okay, nothing amazing, I wish there were more fries maybe. The server came around sometimes, but our glasses were empty a lot of the time. And she was too busy at some other table playing with some couple's baby. SERIOUSLY?! And she wouldn't walk away from them. AT ALL. We tried to catch her eye, and when she would walk by, it was almost like she was looking away/trying to look busy on purpose. Everything including tip was around $30-something...very cheap.

Great food at decent prices! Good venue as well. Live bands play for free 7-11 on the outdoor deck. Shrimp and grits, lobster mac n cheese, and jambalaya were all amazing. Would definitely go back. Great service as well!

One of my favorite places to see a show in my surrounding area. The House of Blues brings in bands of all genres, some are very well known and some are not so much. I've probably been to 20 or more shows in this venue and I go back any chance I get. It's mostly general admission except for pews upstairs and stools you can purchase but the ticket prices are higher and they usually make you purchase vouchers for the restaurant. This isn't a big deal, and sometimes having a seat is worth it if it's a big enough show, but I usually can't use my entire voucher before the show. It's a lot of drinking and eating! You can usually do "Pass the Line" as well, which means if you spend a certain amount in the restaurant or the store, you get to go in before everyone waiting who didn't do pass the line. If you have to eat before the show, it's usually worth it. If you like choosing a spot or standing right up front it's the best bet. Sometimes for smaller shows they close the upstairs, but even so there is room to spread out. There are three bars downstairs and a bar upstairs. One of my MOST favorite things is the parking is ample, and you aren't stuck in the lot for an hour or more when it's time to leave. Sometimes they do two for Tuesday deals where you get two tickets to certain shows for the price of one. I recommend following them on social media or sign up for their newsletter. If a band you're interested in comes to this venue, I strongly urge you to go. The people who run the sound are total pros and it's always a great time!

I wanted to do a follow up to my original review. Even though I was not overly happy with our experience while we were there, I am extremely pleased with the response from Dawn T. It is reassuring to have a response from an establishment. It is not often that people write a review without a response. Dawn T did respond in a kind and caring manner. Obviously, she wants my business so she is going to get it. Count my in Dawn T, next time we're in Myrtle Beach, we will stop at HOB!

Went with a group of 7 on a Sunday evening. Manager Angie and waitress Sarah were very attentive to food allergies. Also they were aware of length of time for food service and compensated us well. Great atmosphere and nice menu options.

Drinks are spot on. We got spicy Bloody Mary's. Food was amazing. I recommend the club sandwich. They use quality meat and cheese. Only suggestions are: 1. Fresh cut fries and 2. Creamier cole slaw. Both were pretty good though. Would definitely go back! Oh and good customer service! Spoke with individuals in the parking lot- they said food was expensive. I found the price point fair and would rather pay for quality.

We absolutely love going to the House of Blues in Myrtle Beach. The atmosphere is incredible during the day or at night, with artwork inside and outside of the restaurant that you can look at while waiting if you come at a busy time. Once you step inside, it's a blues style, jazzy, fun atmosphere, where the food is equally as good. The wait staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, but the best part is the food. We thought it was going to be simple bar food, but House of Blues has surprisingly incredible dishes. Even the appetizers, like the buffalo wings, are incredible. This is one of our favorite places to eat in Myrtle Beach.

Food was excellent. Servers were friendly and fun. We waited 25 minutes when I counted 15+ tables open and the hostess kept telling everyone that some tales needed to be cleaned but that wasn't the case. Not sure is the kitchen crashed or they were short staffed but she should have just told us why we were waiting. I'd still go back, great ambiance and I greatly enjoyed the voodoo shrimp and the full rack of ribs.

This review is for the music venue side. This was for the Coheed & Cambria show yesterday. We had to pick our tickets up at will call. It was super easy and there was no fuss. Went out for food and came back to get in line. Did the waiting in line thing for a bit and they had security turn out our pockets for weapons and drugs which I thought was crazy, but better safe than sorry. I had just never seen that before. Went in and got some sweet bar stool seats that were slightly elevated and we were able to see straight onto stage!! Which for me is amazing because i'm 5'tall. The bars/servers were on point and fast. Bathrooms were clean and there was a nice attendant in there. All of the guard guys seemed pretty cool aside from one skeezy one that was scamming on a lot of girls which was grody, but such is life. Aside from that, really great show and sound. I am really happy with the venue.

This review is specifically for the weekday breakfast buffet. We go to Myrtle Beach every other year or so and we have our staple restaurants. The House of Blues breakfast buffet was always a good deal with standard breakfast favorites. This year the breakfast was up to $7.99 and there were only about five things on the buffet when we got there around 9:30 am, despite it going until 11:30 am. There was passable bacon, cold biscuits and gravy, waffles that tasted like they were straight out of a box, cold and soggy breakfast potatoes, and some fruit. The empty scrambled eggs container was never refilled. There was also an omelet station which we did not visit. Milk, coffee and soft drinks were an additional $3 and refills were nowhere to be found from our completely absent waitress. There was only one other occupied table in the restaurant despite being peak beach season so I'm guessing this is a known quality issue. We definitely won't be back.

Overall, this is a place for the experience I suppose. The voodoo shrimp appetizers is fabulous if you like rich and spicy foods and I would recommend. We had the St. Louis ribs and the Meatloaf. Both were tasty but overpriced. As for cocktails, 6 dollars for a canned local beer is frankly just absurd. Dinner for two, appetizer and 3 beers plus tip was 85 dollars. If you're going for the experience then ok... But just for dinner, overpriced.

I went to The House of Blues on a Sunday evening mainly for the name. The service was above par, and so were the drinks. I ordered the 1/2 rack ribs and my guest ordered a French Dip Sandwich. Both items came out looking fresh and delicious. Unfortunately both tasted like they came off a menu at Chilies. I would come back to see a concert or have some drinks with friends, but I would not come to The House of Blues for the food.

Great place for locals and visitors alike. Especially during the winter months of "off season". Sit in the bar section, and you will enjoy some excellent happy hour drink and appetizer specials, as well as a two for one Prime Rib on Wednesdays, or two for one Ribs, on Thursday. Check out their website, which they update weekly, for more offers. It was certainly one of our favorite spots at the beach during our two month stay. I recommend it highly to others looking for a great deal and great time!

The food was amazing and the ambience was lively. The entertainment Jeremiah who was doing double duty as musician and is also works there was quite good and had the voice of an angel. My waitress Elaine was very sweet, attentive and personable. Both her and her manager for the night Michelle were very welcoming and I felt quite at home. I love both Dan Ackroyd and Aaron Sanchez and would be happy to patronize their businesses again. Thanks for showing me a good time!

Went here for a Chevelle concert and there was lots of room to accommodate a huge crowd, bars located on lower level as well as upper level. Reserved seating and and special ticket seats def had front row view, mostly standing room otherwise. Lots of staff, great atmosphere. There is security when you enter, and the bathroom staff do work for tips!

My husband planned a birthday weekend for me in North Myrtle Beach, SC; which included dinner and brunch at Crossroads House of Blues!! The food, service, abd atmosphere was excellent!! My husband and I can't wait to come back to The House of Blues! This was our first visit and we both were very impressed immensely with the service, food, entertainment, and atmosphere. Jerry, Brooke, Angelica, and the bartenders were second to none!! What an outstanding birthday celebration!! Thanks honey!!

I really wanted to like this place! We got there at 4:15pm on a Wednesday for happy hour. We got seated in the regular section and had to move to the bar area for the "happy hour specials" The place is pretty much empty exept for us and the lazy employees. We waited for the bar tender to say something!...anything to us but after 15 minutes of waiting at our table to even get acknowledged that we were there we got up and left. They didn't even care when we got up and walked out! Wow! Please! Please just go somewhere else!

We went this past Sunday night, so it was great to not have to wait for a table but the live music was so-so. I had the shrimp and grits which were amazing. My hubby had the bacon-wrapped meatloaf and loved it. He also got a "good old boy" mule and got to keep the copper mug! My mother had the jalapeño cornbread and eggnog martini and raved about both. Our server was great and the food arrived quickly. We have been in Myrtle Beach a few days now and this was the best service by far.

I am a local I went to house of blues Gospel brunch for Easter dinner with my family... All I have to say is it was horrible horrible horrible..... First of all we had to share a booth with another family which was awkward! Service was terrible it was completely and totally overpriced for all the More we got... They were out of eggs and mashed potatoes and sausage every time we tried to get some!!uhhh hello?? 31.00 and out of all the good stuff ?? that they had... If I would've known it was like that I would've taken my family somewhere else on Easter.. I will never go there again! Nor will i ever recommend it to anyone!

We came for supper on a sunday and waited about 30 mins for booth we wanted. The cornbread app was decent and the voodoo shrimp was good. The juicy lucy burger was yum and the meatloaf wife said was too. The jerk chicken wings over cole slaw were very good and spicy. The only thing negative food wise was the ny strip as it was just plain jane meat and for $28 heck no. It had good grill marks but thats it, no juices could be found as it was medium well but still. Dont come here for steak but its good for other food.

I live in Wilmington, and this was my first time at the House of Blues. It seems that bands more often come here instead of Wilmington, unless they skip this whole area and go to Raleigh/Charlotte (especially the bigger name people). Our show was doors @ 8 and show @ 9. We arrived around 8 thinking we would have plenty of time. WRONG! We realized that this venue is (inconveniently) located within Broadway at the Beach, a large outdoor shopping center. When we got there, there was literally NO parking. We circled around the center for about a half an hour before realizing there is another lot behind the main lot. We had to park at nearly the furthest most point from the venue. After we walked to the HOB, there were several spots that opened up. We saw a lot of people leaving, and realized that the second venue in the center must have had an overlap in scheduling that caused the parking catastrophe. Really stupid to have TWO music venues AND tons of shopping that attracts A LOT of tourists. We know next time to check all venue schedules to determine how early we must arrive. We arrived with about 5 minuted to spare. Inside HOB is average-sized. A little smaller than expected, knowing sometimes big-name people come here. There are actual waitresses coming around to serve drinks, a little strange. We stood upstairs behind seats (you have to pay extra to actually sit). The staff was unusually considerate in making sure people standing in front of us did not obstruct our view. Sound is not bad. I would like this place a lot better if it relocated and had its own lot away from the shopping center.

Our group stopping in there over the holiday season! The VooDoo shrimp were the biggest hit of the table.. Everybody ordered something different so we could see what it was like since it was our first time ever eating at a HOB... The portions were very generous! One person ordered the jambalaya and wished it had a little more heat but now knows that for the next time. I had the buttermilk chicken..wow... The atmosphere is fun..our server was a sweetheart and very helpful when we asked questions... When we were leaving we noticed a table had a huge like mini keg of beer? What was that it looked interesting for next time? We will for sure be back..loved everything about HOB!

From the moment we walked in the wait staff was attentive and considerate. The food was good, our group of 6 all enjoyed what we ordered. The entrees are generous, Appetizers are a bit undersized for the price IMO but overall we had a good dining experience!

Four days after trying out the brunch we returned for dinner. Our experience was a complete turn around. The staff was friendly, engaged and fun. We had Nicole and she is really sweet. We started with the house salad and were surprised at how good that was - candied pecans, feta, yumm. The meatloaf was hot and really good as well - and the key lime pie - wow! Based on this experience I would definitely recommend House of Blues for dinner if you are in the Myrtle Beach area.

Don't want to hurt the lunch or evening staff but the breakfast really sucks. From what I perceived to be out of the bag heat em up Scrambled eggs to, thawed mini waffles that Super 8 would be ashamed to serve. Then there was the hostess from hell. She changed tables on waitresses, announced to one after a broken coffee mug " it' s gonna be taken out of you check " loud enough to be heard by all, if this it's the policy to charge staff for accidents that's fine. Customers are there to enjoy not share the policy I hate negative. But sorry you deserve this. Email me though yelp if I can help. Just not pleasant. Sorry, very unprofessional.

This is the worst buffet ever!!! We were greeted by a women who shouts everything and then a waitress who talked so low you couldn't hear her. I literally thought it was a joke. The buffet consisted of cold scrambled eggs, an empty bacon tray, watered down biscuits and gravy, soggy waffles, red cut dinner potatoes and a pathetic fruit tray. You could also wait in line 20 minutes for an omelet. No toast, no sausage or pancakes. Are they kidding.?? The orange juice was $3 a glass and they make sure to tell you it's not refillable. The reason you go to a buffet is for many choices, this is not a buffet. I have seen better buffets a hotel lobby for free. Don't waist your money or your time. HORRIBLE! I don't understand the good reviews. All I wanted was a breakfast buffet on my vacation. And all I got was ripped off.

We are in love with Shelby!! We came on a relatively empty Friday night and Shelby was just amazing. So friendly, attentive, and the ultimate bartender. We sat at the bar outside and it's your typical outdoor bar with plastic cups but as long as you're okay with that it was great. Awesome seating, awesome band (whiskey diablo). We had a great casual night! And Shelby... Wish we could take you home!

Came on Saturday night February 15 and was looking forward to a great show . I arrived at 8 pm for an 8:30 show as the ticket said but at 9:04 the bad finally took the stage and for me I had to leave at 9:30 so I only seen a so g and the start of the second ! The band a Dave Matthews tribute band sounded very good and just wished I could have stayed for the whole show .

Disappointing. They were literally out of ribs and wings, and they no longer have former staples on the menu (crawdads!). Prices are high. One saving grace was that service was relatively attentive, but with all the restaurant choices in Myrtle, don't settle for this place.

Music hall venue is great. Drinks kinda pricey but it is run down a bit. The men's bathroom had two broken urinals. The upstairs restaurant off the deck smells like ass. The employees are all very friendly and efficient - would have rated higher if not for the funky smell.

I really really wish I could give this place more than 2 stars, however I've tried the restaurant twice and I have been disappointed both times. The first time was almost 2 years ago and it was before a concert our service was decent , but our food was terrible. This time was no different we went before a concert Tues. night hoping this would be different and it wasn't. Not only was our food not great, the service was terrible. Apparently looking young causes you to not get service, and also causes your waiter to enter your vouchers wrong. We had purchased a meal option with our concert tickets that was for $25 in the restaurant, and our server only gave us $20 off. We didn't even complain because it had already taken almost 30 minutes just to get our check. I didn't even finish my $28 steak because it was so tough and my husband barely finished his grilled chicken, which was super dry. Desserts however where amazing, but you could tell they were just pre-made possibly frozen items. Plus I wouldn't return just for desserts. I hate that I'm giving this place such a low rating, because I love it as a concert venue, just don't buy the food vouchers and eat somewhere before the show.

We ordered the voodoo shrimp appetizer, absolutely amazing (it is spicy). For dinner we had shrimp and grits and the jambalaya. Both were absolutely fantastic. The grits were breaded, then fried with a sauce and shrimp poured over the top. The deck had really great entertainment. A live band performed until about 11, and then a dj spun music after. Just an absolutely fun night!

7.99 breakfast buffet every morning but Sunday is pretty great...it's from 9:30-11:30 or something like that...decent selection including fruit, little waffles, bacon, potatoes, bacon, grits, sausage and gravy...there's an omlette bar which is nice in theory but the egg lady was pretty rude...I can only have egg whites and she told me they don't usually do that but she would do it just this once...also had to wait in her to get back from who knows where forever to cool the eggs but, all in all for breakfast...good option!

You are without a doubt paying for ambiance at the HOB in Myrtle Beach. The place is real neat both inside and out! We went there to check it out before a concert a week ago. We went during happy hour and we were sat at a table next to the bar and told it was in the HH area. They said that they had no happy hour food deals but beer was 1.00 off. BFD. Had a draft local beer and it was 7.00 AFTER the HH discount!! Also had the hamburger sliders. I know sliders are small, but silver dollar size for 3 bucks each (had 3) is crazy. And more bun than meat. The bread pudding was great and a good buy at 6 something. Would never ever go back. Rip off!!!!

What a wonderful way to spend a Sunday a.m. The food was exception. Great variety and quality. We got there later, 11;00 a.m. and the food was still warm and very good. The music was graciously produced from three soulful men. Wonderful experience for our family of four adults.

"LOCAL BREWS LOCAL GROOVES" REVIEW Let me start off by saying I love HOB. This is the best concert venue around, the restaurant rocks, and their events are usually great. The Hubby and I are avid craft beer fans and go to lots of breweries, beer tastings and craft beer related events all over the country. We are also foodies and love music, going to several concerts throughout the year, lots of them at HOB. We really enjoyed their Beer Fest events at HOB. I think they fell a little short of this one though. Saturday (3/21/15) we went to the "Local Brew Local Grooves" event, which looked like it would be right up our alley. I have to say they really missed on this one. Maybe it is just growing pains for a new event and will get better if they continue to have it in the future. Tickets to the event were $10 each. I assume this was for the music because once you get inside you get inside you buy tickets at $3 each and they give you a 3-4oz plastic "shot glass" for your beer samples. The tickets were good for beer or food. The beer selection was fair, but not nearly as good as it has been at past events. I did like the fact that they had all Carolina based breweries. (although Oskar Blues, and New Belgium are originally from CO, they have recently expanded to NC) Some of the food samples were homemade chips, pulled pork sliders, hotdogs, and soft pretzels. I think $3 for a 3oz beer sample is ridiculous. I would much rather pay one price and get to sample as many as I want. For the number of beers they had available I think $20-25 would have been more than sufficient. Also, most beer tastings give you a glass, not a cheap plastic cup. Some of the foods were ok at $3 (sliders, hotdogs) but the small bag of potato chips for three bucks is a little rich for my blood. I would have rather spent the extra money and eaten in their restaurant. The bands were not worth the $10 entry fee. The one man acoustic show inside the restaurant was pretty good and played a nice mix of music. The Wide Spread Panic-esque band playing in the music venue was definitely not my taste. I am a musician myself and listen to a huge array of different artists and musical styles. I think for an event like this you should have something that appeals to the masses, like most of these events have. Some of the other bands may have been better, but with the high prices and bad music, we didn't stick around to find out. I thought this was going to be a fun event to hang around for awhile and drink some good beer, snack, listen to great music, and hang with friends. It turned into a quick hour where we blew through $50 for 5 small beer samples in a plastic glass and suffered through an un-enjoyable band. It is really bad when you see a brew master drinking scotch because it is cheaper than the beer! This is from people who are not only used to paying a premium for good craft beer but happy to do it. There is a big difference is paying $6-8 for a 12-16oz craft beer to enjoy and paying $3 for 3oz. If this was HOB's answer to Beer Fest moving to the Ball Field, they failed on this one and need to try again.

HoB has a great ambiance with lots of music history surrounding you. I have seen shows there several times, and the concert hall is the best part about this place, but the restaurant wasn't too shabby either. I had the Jambalaya, which was just so-so, not that spicy or flavorful. My daughter got the ribs and devoured them, they were very good. Service was great. When we arrived, we had to wait about 20 minutes for a table despite the fact that it appeared they were only about 3/4 full at the time so that was a little annoying. Overall, great dining experience and we will return!

I have gone here for many years for shows. The only reason being is it's one of the ONLY venues in my area that sometimes has decent acts come through. Hell, for the longest it was one of the only venues, period. If there was anything better I surely wouldn't waste time going to the H.O.B. First off, if you have any questions about an event you can never get through to a real person when calling them. This is just mildly annoying though. Planning on dining there? Don't waste your time. There's plenty better options in the area to hit before catching a show. The food is lackluster and overpriced in the H.O.B. restaurant. And dear god, do not purchase alcohol here unless you're a raging alcoholic who will die without another drop. You might pay $20 for 2 beers. The music venue itself leaves something to be desired. Like I said, I only go because it's the only place some bands go when passing through. The sound quality is always terrible. When pretty big acts do come through H.O.B. is less than accommodating and the show obviously suffers from it. When it comes to the staff, I've dealt with numerous rude security and ticket personnel. Although there are some great employees there, and I have had positive experiences with them the bad ones have heavily outweighed the good. Then there's the misinformation relayed from them that has created countless hassles for my friends and I when attending shows. Only go if you must catch your favorite band there and there's no other venue you'd be able to. That's what I will continue doing.

Double review here for me. First this is where they hold the Murder Mystery dinner theater show and it's also a place I have eaten and grabbed drinks. First the theater show. So much fun! I had a ball and it was really fun to see live acting. The storyline is funny, silly and pretty easy to resolve who did it. The food served during the show is ok but nothing memorable. Now HOB specifically is a really cool venue I think. The decor does wonders for my ADD and the bar is built like a kings bar. Great carvings in the wood and very ornate. I love that.

Great vibe all around. From the moment you walk in to the moment you pull out of the parking lot, this is a cool find in Myrtle Beach! Food was fresh and delicious... had the blackened chicken tacos and they were amazing! Burgers were also good and enjoyed the sweet potato fries as an option. Kids meals were all devoured. Wait staff was accomodating with our food allergies and offered menu suggestions. *One thing I didn't understand was that gratuity was included for our party of 6... I found that extremely odd but given that our waiter was good, it didn't bother me so much.

Poor customer service. Blatantly ignored by the waitstaff for over 30 minutes. We had to order our drinks and food at the bar because our server kept disappearing.

We have been coming to HOB regularly since the 90's and it used to be our go-to spot for a long time, but it has been slipping for several years so we have not been much lately but we decided to give it another try. Boy was that a mistake. THe service was wonderful as it almost always has been, but the food is really, really bad now. THey have a new menu curated by celebrity chef Aaron Sanchez, but they assured us they had some of the favorites that we loved from the old menu. I share of love of spicy food with Sanchez and loved his Heatseekers show, so i thought about the Heatseeker Burger but was told it used plain old canned jalapeños instead of fresh ones. SO i opted for the my usual off the old menu of jambalaya. The server said it was a new recipe, but assured me it was just as good but unfortunately he was wrong. It was a much smaller portion than before, which actually turned out to be a blessing since it was full of rubbery fish fins, small rock hard nuggets of some sort of sausage and a few pencil eraser consistency baby shrimp. There was chicken in it allegedly, but i detected none, and the rice and sauce formed a puddle of mush that was more like a weak tomato-rice soup mix than anything else. Also gone was the habanero garnish, replaced by limp green onion that I will assume was grilled but could have just as easily been boiled.Either Sanchez knows zero about Cajun food, or the kitchen can't execute his recipe correctly. On our servers recommendation we tried the Voodoo Shrimp appetizer and it was just awful. It had a bitter, burnt taste to the broth and majorly overcooked shrimp. The best part was digging the cornbread out of it, wiping the nasty broth off and eating it. My friend ordered a turkey burger and some sort of banana desert that he seemed to enjoy, but overall this was just a disaster. There are so many wonderful places to eat in Myrtle Beach now that one can really leave this out of their options unfortunately. Such a shame really that this once great place has fallen so far.

Great venue. I've been to a couple of shows here and I can't complain about a thing! The decor is amazing! Honestly that is probably the best thing about this place. It's always very clean and the staff is friendly and attentive. Price.... I do find HOB's ticket prices to be a little high for the artists they are hosting. However, with that said, this is the East Coast. If you want to find cheap shows with amazing artists you're going to have to go someplace else. Sorry.... Food.... I have no feedback on this. I'm Vegan and try (note: try) to stay gluten free. I know I wouldn't be satisfied, so I will save myself the disappointment. Traffic..... Welcome to Myrtle Beach. Tourists love MB. If you've made the decision to come to MB during tourist season you can't complain about the tourists.

Went there with about 8 people and were seated pretty fast. Our server was nice and friendly. Menu is a lil overpriced for what you are getting. It took almost 45 min to get our food and really wasn't that great when we ate. One guest in my group ordered a steak medium and received a well done. I ordered a frozen margarita that came out in a small pint glass and was already melted. So, I thought it wouldn't cost that much. Turned out to be $6.50 but that is the way it is at most places. However, it was replaced with a medium steak in a matter of minutes. I probably won't be back unless it's for live music and drinks.

I think what I like most about House of Blues happened to be the decor. It was fantastic. It had a rundown warehouse sort of feel to it on the outside (which really made it feel like we were meeting in a speakeasy to hide from the popo, which I liked), and I really liked the wooden/eclectic interior. Since we're in Myrtle Beach on vacation, we didn't know that Sunday between...some time and 2 was gospel brunch, so that was a surprise. We sat down and asked for menus and our waiter (a wonderful guy, Jeremy I think? I'm not sure) told us all about the buffet. He was really funny. Anyway. The food? Pretty darn good, especially all things considered that it was a buffet. The macaroni and cheese in particular was fantastic. They had an open omelette...maker...place where a guy made omelettes. He was super nice, and kept me entertained by flipping things, and got my omelette just right. The bread pudding was good too, though by the time I got to it I was stuffed, so I didn't eat much of it. The gospel music was good too. I got into the music though my friend did not, but said friend also has a tendency to be like "Ugh, that's lame," to everything and would rather hide behind her hair than do anything, whereas I'm the embarrassing friend who will jump in the middle of a situation and be dumb, so--yeah. The reason I'm going four stars is because said friend and I were tucked away behind some pillars, people had a tendency to forget about us. It took us about 20 minutes from sitting down to get drink orders, and then we sat and drew on the paper tablecloth for 30 minutes before our check was brought to us after all of our plates had been cleared. A bit expensive as far as buffets go too, but to be fair, this is a place that involves a top chef. Over all though, I didn't really mind the wait, because, as stated, we were listening to good gospel music so...nothing to really complain about on that front! Over all, enjoyable.

This is a perfect example of how proper handling of a bad situation can make a happy customer. I took my daughter and her friend to HOB for a quick lunch during a girls day out on vacation. Both girls ordered club sandwiches and fries. I ordered a salad and flatbread combination. Several customers seated after us got their food and we were still waiting. I was beginning to think they had to grow the wheat to make the bread. Finally we got our food after 30+ minutes. To add insult to injury, the fries were room temperature. The manager and the waitress were the heroes. First the manager checked and found that the chef had burned my flatbread. She also got new fries for the table and gave us dessert for our understanding. The waitress stayed upbeat, friendly, and attentive. Oh... and the chocolate cake was delicious. I will go back for sure.

Ask to get them "Grilled" then tossed in the hot sauce with "jerk" on the side! OMG are you kidding me! Trust me! Plus it a "healthier wing" if theres ever such a thing with them being grilled! You wont be dissapointed!

We try to go here every time we're staying in or passing through the Myrtle Beach area. I've always had good service at the House of Blues, and our server Jeremy did an excellent job of taking care of my eccentric family. We ordered the Jerk chicken wings on his recommendation and they were the best wings I've had in quite some time. The true star was the wonderful young woman who welcomed us, Chelsea, who somehow managed all of her duties in addition to befriending and captivating the attention of my four year old daughter. Thanks to Chelsea's efforts, our very energetic and spirited daughter sat down and ate all of her dinner just so that she could come back and see Chelsea one more time before we left for the evening. I will be back for sure.

Food was great or really bad, depending on who you asked at the table. Burgers were great, street tacos super yummy...the ribs not so much. Super slow, but friendly service. Not a great experience but not the worst. Thinking it is hit or miss depending on what you order.

Pretty good food and service for a buffet but it's the whole experience you come for. Love sitting and listening to the music, clapping along with the songs, and (probably) eating too much. People are friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed and laid-back.

Ok being a frequent (every other month) visitor to MB , I have to admit I haven't been here in over 10 years cause the food was simply meh and you know it's a touristy place. Well went there last night cause simply it's close to the condo and saw they had upgraded menu. Thank god Voodoo Shrimp still exists but even better. Had the lobster Mac and cheese..very good. Everyone in our group was happy with the food choices. Need to add a shout out to the waitstaff for being over the top attentive. Forgot it's usually a zoo for them if it's the night of a concert but they were working their butts off to keep drinks coming, food arrived on time and warm..great overall experience

You wouldn't think the HOB is known for food. But it should be. All was good and my child's mac n cheese was so yummy! Wait staff is really friendly and personable. We will be back for sure. And if we can schedule it during the next ACDC tribute band show...so be it!

Interesting decor, friendly server, food was good. I had the jambalaya very tasty, wanted to know if this was made with chicken breast or a mixture of chicken meat, was told it was chicken breast which is the way I wanted. Came out with a mix of white and dark meat, disappointed the server didn't know how it was prepared. Menu put together by Aaron Sanchez from tv shows Chopped and Iron Chef. Cornbread was excellent and the chicken quesadillas for appetizers. Other dinners we had were Shrimp and grits, grits were formed into a cube, very good. Char grilled fish tacos were excellent. Ribs were very good. Outside of my dinner, would rate as a 4. Going with a 3.

I went to this restaurant before a concert and was disappointed. I had to go there with reserved seating tickets and gave us a voucher for 70$ to spend. I order the fried chicken and it seemed like it was sitting out for a day or two. This was recommended by the server I had. It was warm to the touch but defiantly was not hot out of the fryer. I only complain because this place is not cheap 20$ at least per plate. I expect superior service and food. The sides as well were warm as well not fresh. Just not impressed by the price and quality of food. I do not mind paying more for food just if i do I expect better than what I received . Maybe order something different next time

We just finished partaking in the Sunday Morning Brunch and were thoroughly impressed. The food was great, the gospel performance was both uplifting and entertaining and the atmosphere was really enjoyable. I would definitely recommend anyone here in Myrtle Beach on a Sunday morning to make this a definite stop!

I am giving them three stars because I had free beer and food here. Went here for the Myrtle Beach Half Marathon post race party. It was crowded, it was loud, the cover band was ok but I loved watching the drunk guy dance by himself and point at the band, that made my night. Ran into a few old friends which helped pass the time. The food was free and it was a cold pasta dish and a warm pasta dish with meat - ok, but did I mention free and I burned over 2,000 calories running 13.1 miles - so yum!! The beer was from a local brewery, wish I could remember their name because it was good. Too many fun places in Myrtle Beach to go to besides this place, unless they had a really awesome band playing, I might go back.

Walked in during Happy Hour and it was dead. The hostess told us that our only option was the patio since we had our six year old with us. I get that we had our daughter with us but we just wanted to relax somewhere away from the sun prior to ordering a full meal after a few drinks. So we turned and walked out and found another place next to the Alabama Theatre (Flying Fish) that was more accommodating. They gladly took my hundred dollars and we were very satisfied!

Disappointed, my food was ok and so was the service, but they just were not organized and had several items on the menus that were not available. We had such a good experience at the one in Downtown Disney in Orlando this past winter so we were looking forward to coming to this won, but it was not the same.

Went for the buffet yesterday morning. This was probably our 5th trip here over the years and might be our last. We picked it over other breakfast buffets because we thought it was a safer bet than trying something new. Buffet has fruit, waffles, potatoes, bacon, biscuits with gravy, grits and a egg station. When our party of 9 hit the buffet the only offerings available were biscuits, bacon and the 15 person deep line for made to order eggs. Really, why not have a pan of scrambled eggs out? People were forming lines just to wait for new food to be brought out. What food we could get was decent and our server was good. I'll try some place new next time.

The House of Blues complex sure does have a lot going on! Breakfast buffet, lunch, dinner, full bar, live music, murder mystery theater, concerts, and so on. It's amazing how much stuff they do. We've been twice in the past week. First was dinner before a show at the Alabama Theater, which was excellent. Everything is home made and the prices are reasonable. There is a wide variety of choices for all appetites. The corn bread with honey butter is great! Our party of six had the Catch of the Day (Mahi Mahi - as mentioned earlier, a bit heavy on the broccoli), Chicken Fried Chicken (loved it!), Meatloaf (very good), grilled chicken salad of some sort (no complaints), Blues Burger (looked okay, but I've seen better), and something else that I don't remember. None of us had any alcohol so we can't comment on the drinks. During intermission at the Alabama Theater, we heard the live music coming from House of Blues. It sounded great and there was a huge crowd there. We went for the breakfast buffet today and were thoroughly impressed. There isn't a huge selection like some places have, but everything was outstanding and the staff was great (Momma Mary at the hostess counter is a trip... Southern Hospitality at its finest). Biscuits and gravy, cheese grits, roasted potatoes, bacon, mini waffles, assorted fresh fruit, and an omelet station at the bar. Best part: $6.95/person! ... and we had buy one get one free coupons. You can't beat that anywhere. The only extras are beverages...$2 for coffee and tea, $3 for sodas (free refills). The staff encouraged us to walk around the property and check out the scenery. Whoever did their decorating and lighting is a genius. The whole complex is a feast for the eyes... unique art everywhere you look, neat lighting, paintings and fixtures of all kinds. Wow! We are are looking forward to checking out the mystery theater and a concert. Hopefully on this vacation, but it may need to wait until next year. 4.5 stars for now... just not quite 5 star material for me; will update again when we return. Don't forget to check out the Company Store if you want some cool HOB merchandise. T-shirts, glasses, etc. Be sure to bring plenty of $$$!

I really love going here for concerts but be wary of the early access. They will tell you that you don't have to be in line until the last minute but they are also telling 100+ other folks the same thing. You will also find it difficult to get anyone live on the telephone. The food is also very expensive. Why do I still give it 4 stars? They have great line-ups and will go again and again. You should just know the deal before you go.

Had dinner here on Saturday night and it was a wonderful experience. The service was outstanding! Our server had an extensive knowledge of the menu and made some fabulous suggestions! The food was just as wonderful as wonderful as she said it would be! I am a local, and because of Jennifer's service alone we will definitely be returning more often!! Keep up the tremendous service!!

ZERO stars, actually. Has it really come to this? Don't they know we have choices about where we spend our money? The only reason to eat at House of Blues Restaurant is if you will benefit from the "pass the line" feature. The drinks were weak (and I'm a lightweight in this aspect). The food was so mediocre. Our waitress was bland, unresponsive and, frankly, just unfriendly. A real downer experience leading up to a show I was excited about before dining there. Lots of cigarette smoke while eating dinner, too. Gross. The music venue was fun, intimate, and drinks were much better. They have casual food options in the music hall... Wish we had known! Could have used better security/bouncer enforcements when an obnoxious, and obviously chemically influenced by something other than alcohol, couple shoved and trampled and body slammed their way toward the front of the venue during the concert. Everyone around felt unsafe, irritated, and angry. It would not gave taken much to spot their disruptive behavior, and to respond to it. Thumbs up on the music venue. As for the restaurant: "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice..." well, there won't be a twice.

This was my first trip to House of Blues in Myrtle Beach. We had lunch off of the lunch menu specials. I found the prices were typical of the rest of Myrtle Beach. The decor and the ambiance if the place was spectacular to me. The food was really good except for the Caesar salad which was probably the best I ever had. The sweet tea was the best I've had in MB. The service was great too. I think we'll definitely be back on our next trip to MB.

I went to the Sunday brunch with my friends last Sunday. Keep reading because you need to know you need to visit the House of Blues in Myrtle Beach. My friend wrote a poor review from Sunday. First we were contacted immediately. That is amazing in itself. They asked us to give them a second chance, and after a lot of discussion we decided to go for it. Tonight's experience was fantastic. The waitress Nicole was awesome!!! The food was to die for! The managers and Chef came to talk with us and we truly believe they wanted to ensure that everyone has a great experience. Thank you everyone at the House of Blues! You really must go there, and you really have to have the house salad. I will recommend this to all of my friends across the country.

We came for breakfast on a Wednesday morning, late, but there was plenty of food at the buffet and it all tasted very fresh! The omelet bar was amazing, very quick and fresh and plenty of ingredient to choose from. There was also back , biscuits, gravy, grits, waffles, and fresh fruit! Tons of food for a reasonable price. I wish we ha discovered this sooner, a a healthy breakfast spot is not always easy to find!

First time eating at HOB in MB. The menu looked great and the waitress was wonderful, but that's the only positives I have for this restaurant. First of all, to get a beer on tap, I had to walk outside to the bar and order it myself. They don't serve draft in the restaurant...WHAT? Second, the beer I ordered was a nice pumpkin pale ale from Smuttynose and was served in a cheap clear plastic cup. Kinda made me feel like I was back in college drinking Milwaukee's Best out of the keg. Ick! For dinner, I ordered the Jambalaya. What I received looked semi-appetizing until I started eating it. My first bite included a nice full bay leaf. YUM! Next, for every bite I took out of the bowl, there was an orange pool of grease that took it's place. After several bites, I ended up pushing all the meat up the side of the bowl and let the grease slide off it so I could eat it. I know jambalaya is going to be somewhat greasy and I've had LOTS of good greasy jambalaya in my lifetime but this dish went way beyond my level of comfort. Something tells me this isn't what chef Aaron had in mind when he designed this menu.

Went this past Saturday for breakfast buffet. Although everyone was rather nice and friendly, the buffet left much to be desired and will not go back (this was their second chance). Sausage gravy was too salty (and I LOVE salt!), bacon was limp and chewey (and the only offering for protein other than eggs--no sausage links or patties or ham), no toast only biscuits, mini waffles were hard, and the depleted fruit platter was never replenished. On the good side, Peet's coffee was good. Cool atmosphere but it didn't satisfy my tummy.

This is the best kept secret in MB! We came for the breakfast buffet and left fatter and happy. The buffet was a few items done very well instead of a lot of items done mediocre. Fresh fruit, waffles, potatoes, grits, biscuits n gravy, and an omelet station complete with friendly chef. The kids and the adults were pleased! Wait staff was very friendly. Atmosphere was amazing and eclectic. It was the best and cheapest meal we have had the whole time here! We will sing it from the rooftops!!!

the breakfast buffey was kinda bland tasting. The atmosphere was popping and enjoyable. Might go back to try the made to order food that chef Sanchez has created. HE MAY WANT TO DO THE BREAKFAST BUFF ALSO cause people will walk away thnking thats his food also. We did return later in the week to give the dinner menu a try. The portions were large. Fried chicken was great! ANY MAC&CHEESE DISH WAS PATHETIC. We didnt see any cheese nor taste any at all. It was kinda soupy. Lobster mac is the same way. We asked if this batch was normal and 2 waiters said yes and they love the mac n cheese. They cooked another batch and it was the exact same way. How do u screw up that all american dish? It wasnt even baked. Geesh!. Tacos didnt have much taste either.

A really enjoyable meal! I had the buffalo chicken sandwich- fantastic!!!!! I love me some buffalo anything. My friends got the chicken fried chicken with mashed garlic potatoes it all of it was superb! We were all gaga gooing over it. For dessert we got some sort of white chocolate bread pudding that was to die for. Sadly, they said the menu was changing soon, so I don't even know how long this review will be good for....

Went here for Gospel Brunch. It was terrible. Arrived at 11:30; was not seated until 12:30. After that long wait, it took 15 minutes to get drinks even though half the tables were empty. The wait for the buffet was very long, and then much of the food trays were empty. Those that weren't were unappetizing; the " cold" shrimp was floating in a bowl of water, the "roast beef" was floating in greasy liquid, the macaroni & cheese was dried out. The buffet line goes through the kitchen and is very crowded, but the staff doesn't seem to be able to keep the buffet tables clean or filled with fresh food. After standing in line for 20 minutes and then encountering this awful buffet, we put down our plates, left money for the drinks and left without eating. And by the way, the whole time we were there, we never heard any gospel music. What a disappointment! Will never return.

Went for a Matisyahu concert Saturday night and the place was packed but we still could see the stage and had a great time. Drink prices were totally outrageous. Typical! Best part: we went out to the tour buses after and got pictures taken. Security was totally cool with the fans.

This place was fabulous. The food and atmosphere was wonderful. The Voodoo Shrimp and wings were perfectly spiced as well as the Shrimp Jambalaya and Shrimp Po-boy. Wish they had a location in the DC area.

This is based on the breakfast only. After reading the other reviews, may be the only time I'll ever go. No complaints on breakfast buffet at all. The grits, bacon, and potatoes were out of this world. Omelette bar worked for me. Bacon, cheese, and onion. Would've been better if the waitress didn't pour sweet tea on it just after i cut it up. Can't beat it for the price. $3 for an orange juice is a little crazy, hence why my daughter got water on her refill instead.

I did Sunday brunch here, and a three man gospel band was playing. Good food, awesome music, definitely worth the money. I loved the HUGE selection of food that ranges from made to order omelets (disgustingly heavy on the cheese) to cocktail shrimp to beef stew. Enjoyable, relaxing, entertaining way to spend a morning on vacation.

Our party of 4 (2 adults, 2 kids) arrived early before dinner rush, around 6ish, and stepped into a nearly empty reception, so I was surprised with the 20+ minute wait. Dinner itself was hit or miss: Soups were quickly served and piping hot, nacho appetizers were delayed, arrived cold, and sent back to be remade. 2 orders of ribs were enough to see that the standard offering was drowning in way too much sauce (we literally scraped the sauce off into giant puddles on my son's plate.) Interesting location, but it feels like there is quite a bit of reliance on the cache of the name and the coolness factor, and not enough attention paid to the quality of the food and the timeliness of the service. Kids enjoyed the separate gift shop, which had reasonably priced shirts, etc. Restaurant.com made the sting of the sketchy service and questionable food quality a bit more tolerable, but if I had paid full price, I would have been miffed at the lack of service and quality.

Tis the start of spring and spring break so I guess it's time for everyone to open their business. House of Blues is now serving breakfast buffet during the week from 8 to 11 AM. The price of the buffet is $7.99. I would have done much better at IHOP or Denny's I think. When we walked in, we were asked to wait while the hostess answered the phone and made reservations for someone for Easter. That's wasn't so bad. After she completed the call, she thanked us and asked if we wanted a table or a booth and we chose a booth. Our waitress was helping the table behind us so we waited for her to end her conversation. Toni was our waitress and she explained that Robert was at the bar in the front of the dining room and he would make eggs or an omelet of our choice. I saw a fresh bowl of fresh fruit, which I immediately went for. My significant other and I ordered a cup of coffee., If you do not have hair on your chest and you drink this coffee......I believe some will grow. It was so strong and extremely bitter, I could NOT drink it! We both had Robert make us scrambled eggs with cheese. There were many veggies to pick from if you wanted an omelet. Other choices at the buffet table were mini waffles/syrup, bacon, gravy (which my partner said was too salty and sweet at the same time.(and he LOVES salt!) and biscuts. They had grits which I do not eat. The bill came to around $22. Toni asked if we wanted more coffee and I told her there was no way I could drink it because it was just too bitter and gross. She took both cups of coffee off the bill, which I thought was nice of her to do. She also explained that others have voiced the same opinion about that coffee. The total bill was $17.66. I did not like it and will not go back again. I did thoroughly enjoy that fresh fruit which consisted of fresh pineapple, cantaloupe, honey dew melon and watermelon. I find this disturbing because I've been here to the House of Blues for their Murder Mystery dinner theater and that dinner was delicious. If you get a chance to go to the Murder Mystery Dinner theater, go. You will enjoy that, just don't go there for the breakfast buffet because I'm sure you'll be very disappointed.

While this type of venue has the potential benefit to bring the audience and artist closer, physically -- it is offset by the appearance of their violating fire code by being so incredibly over capacity. If there was a fire in this building -- there are going to be deaths, either from trampling or burning. People are sitting in stairwells to get a view, standing on steps and leaning over an average height person just to glimpse the front. I've been to three shows here, the most recent being Tenacious D in March , 2013. We arrived an hour early and were one of the last people to enter -- downstairs and upstairs seating was already at capacity, I believe -- and more people were coming in. My wife and I thought we might need a chiropractor after we left because we had to stand at an angle for two hours to avoid a pillar, people holding their cameras up and average height people (I'm almost 6 ft and stood on steps). It's unfortunate. On the other hand, if you arrive 2-3 hours early and get in line early -- you can really enjoy a great view of the artist, but you must brave being on the main floor with drunk a-holes still trying to mosh in 2013. Very mixed results.

What a great place to see a show! I have been hesitant about House of Blues for a while, given it's a national chain and they get a lot of crappy bands. However, interspersed throughout the lineups are the occasional awesome group, such as the Flaming Lips, Clutch, Ben Harper and yes, even Daughtry (HA!). HOB has more of a cool theatre vibe than a hopping club. There's a great balcony and views from pretty much all over the venue. It is what you might call an "intimate setting" and you can bet any band with a good stage show is going to light the place up. I have seen several acts here and have not been disappointed yet. It only rates 4 stars because its not in Charleston. I have to drive 2 hours and therefore the rating suffers. Still a great place to see a show. Actually, the trip and making a whole evening of it is part of the fun.

I don't know exactly why I'm not giving this venue five stars . . . maybe it has something to do with the fact that it's a national chain? Anyway, the one in N. Myrtle Beach is awesome. The theme is religious folk art, and they even have 1 or 2 (maybe more) Howard Finster pieces scattered around (that crazed found-art prophet from Georgia, see finster.com ). What really made my latest experience here so stellar, though, was the act I saw: The Flaming Lips. This show was so incredible, it makes me want to come up with a new curse word with which to emphasize the experience. All the usual ones just don't do it justice. It was simply fucktaculous. To begin with, costume-clad volunteers walked around the auditorium about 20 minutes before the show with big boxes of something wrapped in plastic. Assuming this to be candy, I grabbed two fistfuls, only to discover I now had possession of oh-so-many laser pointers. They passed out LASER POINTERS to the entire place. This made for a pretty annoying setup for the stagehands. But it also totally engrossed a restless crowd, including my pewful of misfits, who (thanks to me) had enough lasers to perform minor surgery. Besides being a helluva pre-show distraction, the Lips used the laser pointers to great effect during the concert, directing us all to aim them at a giant mirrored plate and later a giant balloon in a good ol' fashioned cooperative light show. Am I gushing (yet)? I've always loved their music, and their documentary is top-notch ( fearlessfreaks.com ), but their concerts really must be experienced to be believed. Highlights include: A solid 5 minutes of orange confetti blinding the audience. . . Dozens and dozens of giant yellow balloons bouncing all around the crowd and stage. . . 7-foot long streamers shot from plastic guns at various intervals throughout the show. . . The whole thing was magical. I felt, and probably looked, like one of those preteen audience members caught on film at a Beatles concert: borderline hysteria. For the first 15 minutes I smiled until my face hurt. Adding greatly to my enjoyment, no doubt, was the fact that we were treated to seats in the balcony. You usually have to pay to sit in the pews upstairs, which are probably well worth the additional cost, but a kindly usher took pity on us, so we got the perfect view (and no sore feet) for free. Shockingly, staying seated for most of the show did not interfere with our collective Rocking Out at any point. The Flaming Lips don't come around these parts too often, but The House of Blues is a straight shot up 17-N from Charleston, so bow down to Ticketmaster and get thee to another show sometime soon. And if you are ever around when the Lips are playing, please don't hesitate to go.

**I only reviewed HOB as a venue, i have never eaten there** I went to HOB for the first time tonight, to see Bad Religion with Rise Against ( Rise Against was the headlining act, but they are a joke, Bad Religion was the only part of the concert worth while) ANYWAYS, back to the venue.. The look of the place is awesome, very old country vintage..hard to explain. The venue itself was really very clean, even during and after this mondo punk concert, it managed to still smell clean, and the bathrooms were clean!!! The central AC rocked, during the whole evening, surrounded by tons of people i was still pleasantly cool. The seating is amazing, no matter where you are there is a good view, which is a god send for short people like me! There are mroe than just one bar, thank god, one at the back and then one on each side, and I think one up stairs. The music was loud, as it should be, but the sound was very clean as well as the lighting. The staff was great. the bouncers were on top of everything, kicking out the people who did throw drinks, and start acting like a**holes, and one bouncer, helped a girl who had passed out in the crowd, he picked her up and helped her out, most bouncers wouldnt do that. The parking is outstanding ..a huge lot, plenty of room. I can not review the food, because I did not eat there, BUT the beer was well priced for a concert..a coors was 4.25 ( again that is cheap for a concert) OVERALL: I would gladly attend another concert here, no questions asked. My only complaint is.. Bad Religion shouldve headlined, not rise against!

While heading to see 38 Special I decided to have dinner at the House of Blues. The food was great with no exception. Evereyone loved their meals and the bar was having Happy hour while we were having dinner. I was shocked when the bar bill for a Margarita, a tall beer and 2 cokes was $5. After the meal we went next door and the show was great. The venue is a rustic "blusy" kind of place but what do you expect. We had a really good time. Most shows are all ages but I didn't see anyone under about 18.

Best breakfast deal on the beach! $6.99 all you can eat, includes biscuits and gravy, eggs, waffles, potatoes, crispy bacon, cheesy grits, omelet station and fresh fruit. Well worth it! Service is always good and it's a fun place to visit.

LOVE this place! I stayed in N.Myrtle right behind the HOB for a week this summer. IN Barefoot. Lets just say, I MET the Doobie brothers, went to a Hanson Concert, AND saw Bob Marleys son...STEPHEN marley in concert, and that was awesome! Bartenders are pretty cool and the setup is sweet...if you eat dinner there, save your recipt and you get to butt in line at the concert and get right up on the stage! love love love HOB MB SC!!!

overall they're getting a 3 because the service was prompt and the servers were nice and because of the atmosphere- however they were all out of fried chicken which is one of their signature dishes and some of the people's food in our party was inedible because it was so spicy.

Went for the Sunday Gospel Brunch. They had a trio of Gospel singers hawking their CD. They were not very lively or engaging which was a disappointment. The host sat us behind a pole which completely obliterated our view of the stage. When we asked politely to be moved to another available table they had a bit of an attitude about it. The food was all you can eat buffet style and was set up in the kitchen. They did have a lot of choices and it was tasty but the most disturbing thing was a cockroach walking on the serving area very close to the food. They kept trying to clear our plates and it felt like they were trying to rush us out even though it was not crowded. We were very disappointed!

This venue is commercial, tries not to be, still is, but I still kinda like it. You want to hate it, but it's designed fairly well so there isn't really a bad seat and that's something. The Myrtle Beach House of Blues has a special place in my heart because I have met two of the artists I went to see here by happenstance! I saw Ben Harper here and one of my friends started talking to the sound engineer, and he arranged for us to meet Ben. Ben told me I had the softest hands he'd ever felt. The very hands I am using to type this story! I sort of swooned. Another time in college, I went to see Dashboard Confessional (I know, but it was 2002, so cut me some slack, 'kay?) and Chris was hanging out in the bar watching the opening band. A male friend and I said hi to him, and told him we were big fans, and he was so nice. During the concert, he dedicated a song to his "new friends in the balcony." The song was romantic, which was awkward, because the guy and I didn't have anything going on like that, but it was still such a sweet sentiment. Hooray for House of Blues for making those possible, despite serving beer in plastic bottles!

I think this place is awesome. We had the Opera box on stage left and it was an incredible experience. You can contact Evan at the HOB's and rent a box on either side of the stage. You don't have to wait in line, get a cheese and cracker plate along with chocolate covered strawberries. Our waitress was prompt and nice. The view is excellent. It truly is a one of a kind experience. We had dinner at the restaurant downstairs before the show. The meal was fine and our waiter cheerful and quick. All and all it was a great evening and I hope to be able to go back soon.

This is a great place to see a live show at. It is not too big but not too small. I like to get there early and get a bar stool around one of the ledges. I have eaten in the dining room a couple of times and the food has been good. Portions are big.

Came out from San Francisco to visit the folks at Myrtle Beach. We ate out ate out a lot and it was obvious that I wasn't in SF anymore. The HOB was one of two really good places we visited for dinner (Carolina Roadhouse was the other). I can't comment on the entertainment but the food was really good. I had a salad with grilled shrimp and an amazing bread pudding for dessert. My mom got some really good shrimp and grits and my dad got the special which was like a hot link rice and bean dish. Everything was great except for the special which nobody liked very much. The best part is that they give Barefoot residents a 25% discount! You can't beat that. Now for the bad news: service was not too great. Bartenders had never heard of a Daiquiri without fruit in it. Waiter was pushing expensive things on us that we didn't want, rushed us to put in an order, came at the worst possible times and added things to our bill that we didn't order. HOB can thank their poorly trained service staff for my 3 star review. There is potential for improvement here though.

Good location if you're going to alligator adventure. Our second time to this location for dinner and I have to say I think the first time was better. The food was ok, but nothing to write home about. Our table had burgers, the mushroom pene pasta dish I had grilled chicken salad. I tasted all of them and wasn't impressed w anything. Don't think well waste another vacay dinner here unless were there to see a show. Decor is A+ but that's about it.

I went here to watch my high school's jazz band perform while we were in Myrtle Beach for our annual band trip and adjudication (at that time I was a junior in High School and was an active member of the symphonic band). I wasn't too thrilled with the lunch buffet they put out for us, but the Myrtle Beach HOB is a nice venue for shows and would recommend it to anyone who happens to be in the Myrtle Beach area. Also, it's always really cool to see people's reactions when I tell them I saw my high school's jazz band perform at the House of Blues!

Not good, not terrible. The epitome of a commercial joint but at this point in your life, you have to know what you're getting into with places like Hard Rock, Planet Hollywood and HOB. So, we sit outside for a few drinks and listen to the local band, watching a handful of blonde 5 year old girls dance with their buzzed/smoker moms, a good people watching experience. The clincher? We sit down for dinner and by drink 2, our waiter is telling us how he moved to Myrtle with his fiance, only to meet another "broad" that had also just recently moved to Myrtle with her fiance. You know the rest, they dumped the significants and now they're living la vida loca. Oh, but it gets better! Seconds later he tells us that he's having a hell of a night. Why? Because he's finally convinced the hostess to go home with him that night to make out with his new girlfriend and how she is very excited and so is he...but he's trying to find a way to convince the hostess that HER boyfriend doesn't need to come with her to his place. I kid you not. Class act that Myrtle Beach.
